- To All
-
- I've been toying with ShapeShifter for a bit nowand have had a problem with
- MacOs (both 7.0.1 and 7.1) properly recognizing disks. Rarely it works right.
-
- Basically the Mac seems to think that the next disk inserted is the most recently
- inserted one. This becomes an intractable problem when attempting to copy disks
- by menu/eject insert new disk and drag icon of one over the other and follow disk
- swapping instructions. Usually the disk one is asked to insert is not recognized
- properly as the next desired one. I recently patched mfm.device v38.5 with the
- suggested changes from ssfaq, but the behaviour remains the same.
-
- I have an A1200, MBX 882 FPU+4M in the trap door, and a Dell external HD
- floppy which I use for the Mac side. (I usually disable ADos on the HD, and
- don't inform the mac of the internal floppy.)
-
- I almost suspect that there is some kind of buffering coming from the ADos side
- that is confusing the mac.
-
- BTW, in case it matters I have SS3.3 unregistered and had the same problem with
- SS3.2c or whatever it was.
-
- Don't flame me for not registering, I've made no use of the emulation to
- date, other than trying to find out what works. Except for the above it looks
- very promising though, even speed is tolerable using filedisks with only an '020
- for an engine. I've even used 16 colour mode with AmigaEVD or whatever with
- tolerable response. The latter, unfortunately eats up a little too much of my 4M
- faast mem.
-
- Thanks
